How to use Xilisoft iPod Mate to sync music & videos
1) Install and open
- Download and install Xilisoft iPod Mate (or the bundled apps: iPod Rip, iPod Video Converter, DVD to iPod Converter).
- Launch the program and connect your iPod to the computer with a USB cable. The app should detect the device and display its info.
2) Copy files from PC to iPod
- Select the target device folder in the left directory tree (Music, Videos, etc.).
- Click “Add File(s) to Device” → choose files (or “Add Folder”) or simply drag-and-drop media into the file list.
- Click “Copy File(s) to Device” (or similar) to start transfer.
3) Backup from iPod to PC / iTunes
- Choose the source list on the left (e.g., Music).
- Check items you want to back up.
- Click “Copy File(s) to Computer” to export to a folder, or “Copy File(s) to iTunes” to send items to iTunes.
4) Convert videos for iPod
- Open Xilisoft iPod Video Converter or DVD to iPod Converter.
- Add video files or load a DVD/ISO.
- Choose an iPod-compatible profile (MP4/H.264 for video; MP3/AAC/M4A for audio).
- Adjust resolution/bitrate if needed, then click Convert.
- After conversion, import the output into iPod Mate (or use the converter’s “Copy to Device” feature).
5) Make ringtones or trim clips (optional)
- Use the built-in player to set start/end points.
- Export the clip as an audio file and copy it to the device.
6) Tips & troubleshooting
- Ensure iTunes is closed if transfers conflict (some versions require iTunes to be installed).
- If a file won’t play, convert it to an iPod-supported format/profile.
- Use the latest device drivers and the app version compatible with your OS.
- For DRM-protected content, conversion or copying may be blocked.
